So I've spent the past couple of hours going through my copy of The OpenGL Programming Guide just basically learning more about "gl". I'm finding that I'm going to be using glut for the windowing stuff since it's super easy- and I actually seem to being a little bit of c++ and all is going well so far. It's actually reminding me alot of what I've been doing with pdf's at work- "gl" is a state machine, and so are PDF documents. Set color, draw line. Translate, rotate, clip. Should make learning "gl" a bit easier. comments (0) # posted 8:38 pm (uct-6) Neat- Mathtools.net: The technical computing portal for all your scientific and engineering needs. comments (0) # posted 6:33 pm (uct-6) I had a c++ question the other day, and as usual, when I get really stuck on something and I just can't find the answer- I ask Paul. Then I had a thought... I bet there's an irc channel that I could ask this on- and sure enough, there's #programming on irc. I logged on, asked my question and BOOM! - got an answer. Cool. I usually use newsgroups for this, but that's too damn slow- so irc is great for that. Then I poked around a little bit, and found #c, #c++, #objc, and #java. I've been able to help out a bit on #java, but I've mostly just been lurking on #c++ and #c. I've been avoiding irc for years- but it looks like I might just get sucked into it now. comments (0) # posted 2:53 pm (uct-6) |
