Just a gut feeling. There's also a saying "if nobody is complaining about the price, it's too low". Nobody was complaining about the price, so...

VP 1.0 started out at 9.95.
VP 1.1 bumped it up to 19.95. But VP Lite was also put out.
VP 2.0 bumped it to 24.95.
VP 3.0 bumped it to 29.95. Then there was also the addition of VP Pro, which is 49.95.
