Tell Gus what you think, but remember- you are in his home. Be a good guest.

An excellent, if slightly illegible start. What would be amazing would be if you were to use your newfound texture patterns to make VoodooPad look like the kind of notepad a Voodoo magician would keep their writing in. Something with sort of a skin background, perhaps, with symbols burnt into the flesh as the toolbar icons...

How do you do that, just out of interest?

Flower power is most psychedelic. When I glanced at the Dalmatian screenshot, I thought of it more as "Riddled With Bullets VoodooPad". Maybe that's something I need to worry about.

Bad Gus. Bad, bad Gus.

Brilliant--UI design as satire!

That's just wrong.

Sick and wrong...

Two words: add plaid!

I'm with Chris - that's just wrong.

Brilliant satire, but wrong.

Gus -- A great way to point out the idiocy of changing the UI all the time. Can you convince Q. to show other developers how to do it?

Also, I think you should make the window shape changeable. Especially with non-anti-aliased pixels like iTunes.

Haaah! Great, just great. Shame the UI folks at Apple won't get it. :D

Bravo, and well done.

I think it should be taken a step further, though. The current Apple design isn't willfully bad, I don't think, but it has two major problems:

1) Willfully ignores previous (or, indeed, any) human interface guidelines.

2) Takes bad web design as inspiration.

So, I'm going to say that we should follow right along and add... you guessed it...!

THE BLINK TAG

Let's make all our UI elements blink for the love of God!

Go for the gold! Here's your new texture:

Hillarious. Really Great! But seriously if you'll do it: how? ;-)

The folks over at Rogue Amoeba just let slip the secret - set the window's background color with a pattern NSColor taken from an image.

Oh, and great job, Gus, but I think you need to take it a step further. I want an OS 10.0-esque pinstripes background!

You know, if these were actually Blue Dalmation and Flower Power; like the real iMac graphics, it wouldn't look half bad. These *images* suck as backgrounds, but the basic concept of Blue Dalmation and Flower Power windows... I dig it.
