Computer viruses aren't usually cool things... however, I find this latest "Code Red" stuff that takes down Microsoft Servers to be pretty freaking cool- at least technicly. I got a look at some documents that shows how the virus works and it just blows my mind.
Anyway, we are about to get Code "Red Part II" here in a matter of days according to a CERT warning... and I was looking at it, I came across this snipet of text:
"Our analysis estimates that starting with a single infected host, the
time required to infect all vulnerable IIS servers with this worm
could be less than 18 hours."
Holy crap. That's even faster than it took for napster to get on the scene :)
